The Luigi & Anita Traverso Study Abroad Endowment

The Luigi and Anita Traverso Endowment was created by Professor Emeritus Giancarlo Traverso to honor his and his brother Giuseppe’s parents. The fund provides scholarship support to benefit SUNY New Paltz students who are studying abroad in Italy, first preference will be given to students who are minors in Italian Studies or who are engaged in Italian language learning; other majors and/or minors will be considered secondarily.

Applicants must meet the following criteria;

• Matriculated and in good academic standing with an overall GPA of 3.0
• Approved program through the Center for International Studies with a preferences to abroad trips centered in Italian universities like Universita Cattolica Del Sacro Cuore or similar programs.
• Applicant must submit a letter of recommendation.
