Professor Raymond T. Kurdt Endowed Student Travel Scholarship Fund
The Professor Raymond T. Kurdt Endowed Student Travel Scholarship Fund is to support theatre student attendance at design and technology conferences such as the USITT (United States Institute of Theatre Technology) annual national conference, or other theatre conferences chat focus on design and technology. This Fund will help to reimburse some of the student cost (registration, travel, room and board) of attendance.
All full-time matriculated students current in their SUNY New Paltz account and majoring in theatre arts with a concentration in design and technology are eligible.
Spring and Fall Semester Conferences:
- If you are attending a conference in the fall or spring semester, your application should be submitted during that semester the conference takes place.
Summer Conferences
- If your conference takes place in the summer – scholarship applications should be submitted in the prior spring semester for conference dates up to 7/1.
- If your conference dates fall after 7/1, scholarship applications should be submitted upon return to campus in the following fall semester.
- If you are not enrolled for summer, reimbursements can not be granted until fall.
Tax Liability
- All payments require students to fill in a W9 (W8BEN for international students) – these funds are taxable.
- Reimbursements follow government guidelines https://www.gsa.gov/travel with the exception of mileage.
- The SUNY New Paltz Foundation only accepts gas receipts for car travel and will not reimburse mileage.

To apply to this scholarship you must complete the Conference Travel Conditional Application that auto populates when you select Conference Travel in the General Application.
