Lori A. Beer Endowed Scholarship for Promoting Diversity in Education Professions
Established by Lori Beer in 2019, the scholarship was created in order to promote diversity in education professions. The funds will be used for support of non-tuition educational expenses including but not limited to fees, books and course materials, room and board. Recipients shall be selected annually during the spring semester. Applicants must:
- Be fully matriculated, graduate or undergraduate students at SUNY New Paltz in the School of Education
- Be attending either full-time or part-time (min.6 credits per semester)
- Have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
Preference will be given to those with financial need.
Preference will be given to students who are majoring in math or science education.
Preference will be given to under-represented applicants such as those from low-income backgrounds, first generation college students, and veterans.
